UNET is an official authorized Registrar for the registration of the top-level domains .mk and .мкд, as well as the secondary domains: edu.mk, org.mk, com.mk, net.mk, inf.mk
For registration of the gov.mk secondary domain, only MARnet is authorized. (MARnet Rulebook)
The national internet domain of the Republic of North Macedonia is the top-level Macedonian domain .mk, as well as the Cyrillic domain .мкд
Within the .mk domain, subdomains are organized, called secondary domains. Within the secondary domains of the .mk domain, subdomains are registered, called tertiary domains.

The right to register a domain name in the primary domain .mk belongs to all individuals with residence or domicile in the Republic of North Macedonia and all legal entities.
Legal entities registered outside the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia must be appropriately identified through the national registers of legal entities of the country where they are registered.
The right to register a domain name in the secondary domain .gov.mk belongs to the state administration bodies of the Republic of North Macedonia, institutions and other organizations established by the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia and by law, as well as public enterprises and units of local self-government and the City of Skopje.
The right to register a domain name in the secondary domain .edu.mk belongs to legal entities registered to perform educational or scientific research activities, as well as foreign educational organizations authorized to perform educational and research activities in the Republic of North Macedonia.
The right to register a domain name in the secondary domain .org.mk belongs to non-profit organizations, citizen associations and foundations, centers, institutes, political parties, trade unions, public health institutions, private health institutions, funds, foreign embassies and missions in the Republic of North Macedonia, and foreign non-profit organizations authorized by international agreement or law to conduct non-profit activities in the Republic of North Macedonia.
The right to register a domain name in the secondary domain .com.mk, .net.mk и .inf.mk belongs to trading companies, individuals registered for independent business activities, persons with public authorizations, chambers, cooperatives, financial organizations, legal entities, and individuals registered to conduct business activities.
The right to register a domain name in the primary domain .мкд belongs to all individuals with residence or domicile in the Republic of North Macedonia and all legal entities registered in the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The number of domains a registrant can register is UNLIMITED.
Domains are registered for a period of one to ten years, with the right to renewal after the expiration of the period for a period of one to ten years.
If the validity of the domain is not renewed by the expiration date of the registration, the domain enters a protected period of 60 (sixty) days of the protected period, the domain is removed from the primary zone of the top-level domain and is no longer active. After 120 (one hundred twenty) days from the entry of the domain into the protected period, it is deleted from the Registry and is available for registration.
The registrant is responsible for the accuracy of the data in the application and for the authenticity of the documentation attached to the domain registration request. If it is later determined that the information provided in the application is incorrect or the attached documentation is not authentic, the registrar has the right to delete the domain without prior consent of the registrant.
According to the MARnet Rulebook for the registration of .mk and .мкд domains, UNET as an authorized registrar is obliged to provide proper identification of registrants during registration, data changes, transfers, and all other domain-related operations.
For the Domain Request, the registrant must attach the appropriate documentation, depending on the type of domain being registered and the type of entities entitled to register a domain, as follows:
Certified copy of the Act confirming registration in the relevant register determined by law or other evidence prescribed by law for the right to perform the activity, Approval from the competent authority in accordance with the provisions of this Rulebook, Identity document for inspection or appropriate electronic identification in accordance with the Law on Electronic Documents, Electronic Identification and Trusted Services when the applicant is a natural person.
